Phyllis Papadavid founded Athena Macroeconomics in 2023. For over two decades, Phyllis has been a practicing macroeconomist and financial strategist with extensive advisory, modelling and research experience across the financial, public and think tank sectors.
Phyllis serves as Senior Research Associate at ODI in London and is associate faculty at Columbia University in New York.
Formerly senior global foreign exchange strategist at BNP Paribas and Societe Generale CIB and team leader in international macroeconomics at ODI in London, Phyllis has advised major financial, government and institutional clients globally.
Her recent research has focused on the economic management of financial shocks, including from the Russia-Ukraine War, COVID-19 and the rising role of the renminbi.
Phyllis’ work has been featured on CNN, The New York Times, The Financial Times, BBC, Reuters and Bloomberg.
A native New Yorker, Phyllis was educated at Columbia University and then at The London School of Economics and Political Science and The School of Oriental and African Studies, at the University of London.
